Adcock Ingram launches the YES (Youth Employment Service) programme

Johannesburg – It was a momentous occasion as the first intake of 27 YES graduates were warmly welcomed into the Adcock Ingram family at the YES Programme launch that took place at their head office in Midrand yesterday. Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’ s official launch of the YES Programme during the first quarter of 2018, Adcock Ingram took up the challenge to help close the gap of the President’s vision of bringing one million youth on board within three years. Adcock Ingram has now established a long-term partnership with the YES Foundation and will be taking on a new group of YES graduates each month up until March 2019, and once the first-year cycle draws to an end and the graduates complete their one-year experience, a new cycle will start. The total intake for the year will be 132 graduates.

Candidates dressed in branded apparel were both nervous and excited with the upcoming opportunity and eagerly engaged with their colleagues. Highlights of the launch included an address by Basadi Letsoalo, Executive Director: Human Capital and Transformation as well as by motivational speaker, Cynthia Tshaka, both of whom left the graduates inspired and emotionally equipped for the journey ahead.

‘At Adcock Ingram, we believe in the mantra of ‘adding value to life’, and under the transformation pillar of our strategy, we focus on attracting and retaining talent as well as developing our people. We feel strongly about ‘growing our own timber’ as opposed to looking outside for talent. We are also firm believers in the fact that successful people are not gifted, they just work hard, then succeed on purpose and this is what we try and instil within our people. We are proud to be part of such a remarkable programme and to help make a difference to our country in terms of helping to reduce the rising unemployment levels.’ said Basadi Letsoalo.

Adcock Ingram Last ‘Adcock Ingram is focused on being a catalyst for change within South Africa, and is always on the look-out for opportunities to make an impact on our society. The young talent in our country need to be afforded opportunities as they are our leaders of tomorrow. Adcock Ingram’s graduate programme is another initiative that opens doors for these young students.’ concluded Letsoalo.
